Could It Be? an International School for Kimberley
Kimberley must move beyond its resort-based economy. A new school may be part of the way forward.
This ambitious project has the potential for opening a bright path to Kimberley's future. Building on the community's years of experience with students from many nations, Purcell International Education (PIE) has set an ambitious target for opening a newly imagined international school in less than two years.
What Duncan MacLeod and his colleagues are proposing is imaginative, ambitious and potentially a game-changer for Kimberley ... and for education or, more appropriately, for institution-based learning.
It's still early days yet and there's a remarkable amount of work remaining to be done. But, today, it is possible and even plausible that the substance of what PIE is proposing is doable; and, if they do, we will have substantially altered and enhanced our community.
PIE is working to engage all of us as integral parts of the project development process. Duncan has agreed to stop by the studio from time to time to update us on the progress (and frustrations) of this ambitious project.
Installment 1, along with some of that conversation's salient points, are below.
Stay Tuned.
