One Kimberley Experiment

 

Canada has commited $40B to address our housing crisis. Developers and builders will probably do all right. Whether the unhoused and under-housed will benefit to the degree necessary is a more challenging question.

 

Money alone, even in massive doses, will no solve our housing challenges. We must change our communities in ways that support creative ways of assuring that everyone has a home appropriate to their needs and capacities.

 

The only positive benefit of our homelessness crisis is that the problem is no longer hidden. It is all around us. In Kimberly, one of the solutions has been Kimberley Studios:

 

 

 

Randy Wyton took an old motel, renovated and repurposed the property. It is an interesting story of what is achievable with experience and applied imagination.
